Saturday the 6th of May at Liverpool’s OSQA functions venue, Sports Direct’s David Sing (aka Singy) raised over £3,000 for Cancer Research UK as part of his ongoing war against the disease.
Singy organised the night and sourced prize’s for a sports themed raffle to raise awareness for the charity. Some of the celebrity signed goods donated by Sports Direct helped him smash his target of £2,500.
David’s mission to help level the playing field for cancer victims began 5 years ago when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Since fighting his own battle he has championed the cause for others and has raised close to £13,000.
On the night Singy raffled off boxing gloves signed by Tyson fury, Carl Froch and Joe Calzaghe. He also had a bat signed by the former England cricket captain Freddie Flintoff, and lots of other celebrity signed memorabilia.
The battle is by no means over for David. He is continuing his fundraising efforts by hosting a charity football tournament on the 9th of July. Singy hopes to raise another £2,000 at this event.
