My journey with Sports Direct began 2 years ago. I was a successful applicant of the company’s graduate scheme in which I came first and was offered a permanent role. For a little over a year I fulfilled the duties of finance accountant, before being offered the opportunity to progress into group accounting. This has been an exciting move for me as I now work directly under the CFO, where I see the continued growth of the company.
I had little experience in regards to accounting as my degree is in business management. The company’s decision to hire me was based on my work ethic and enthusiasm for the role.
Sports Direct has provided me with in-house training and study support with access to a CIMA qualification in accounting. I have just passed my third exam and look forward to completing the course as well as my future with Sports Direct.
