The People of Shirebrook and Sports Direct unite to help the victims of Grenfell Tower

During the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower disaster, members of the local community demonstrated their compassion and sympathy by donating clothes, toiletries and other essentials. These donations were taken to the new BrandsMax store in Shirebrook and then delivered by Sports Direct to the Westfield Shopping Centre in London, which is located just 1 mile away from Tower. Sports Direct continue their relationship with Shirebrook’s Willow Tree Family Farm, by donating new work wear for volunteers. The donation allows the charity led farm to take on new volunteers and help them develop essential work skills.

Spotting and Stamping Out Hate Crime

Sports Direct has been working with Derbyshire Police and Derbyshire Victim Services, to help Team Leaders of its Shirebrook based distribution centre understand how to identify hate crime, and how to support potential victims. The information was delivered to employees of Sports Direct, The Best Connection and Transline Group through a series of workshops, which were delivered by Charlotte Baldwin, Victim Caseworker for Derbyshire Victim Services (DVS) and Police Sergeant Mark Church. Smashing Fund Raising targets

Saturday the 6th of May at Liverpool’s OSQA functions venue, Sports Direct’s David Sing (aka Singy) raised over £3,000 for Cancer Research UK as part of his ongoing war against the disease. [More]
